TEHRAN President Mohammad Khatami said here on Tuesday that the ground should be prepared for people from various walks of life, particularly the youth, to better understand and appreciate the holy Qoran.

Khatami told a group of officials in charge of teaching Qoran that there should be no compulsion in learning the holy Qoran and the youth should turn to the holy book out of affinity.

He said that government is ready to contribute to promotion of Qoran in society.

The more Qoranic culture spreads in society, the more healthy the society would be, culturally and politically, said the president.
